Summertime summertime

Summer has officially kicked off at our house. The kids are done with school, the pool is ready and the 80 degree days are appearing steadily. Yeah! I love summer. Give me sunshine. Give me heat. I love it. The hotter the better. I hate when people constantly moan about the weather. We live in Ohio. You know what the alternative is. Rain or snow. I think we've had PLENTY of both lately!

Still sick. Doctor is confused. I kind of think I have some weird respiratory virus thingy. Now along with the incessant cough I have sinus congestion. I haven't been able to taste or smell for a week. It sucks! Although, on the bright side, maybe I'll drop a few pounds with the lack of appetite!!!

Hubs is starting boat patrol again. He works at a private lake community during the summer. These yahoos think it's perfectly ok to get hammered, put their children on tubes and then try to drive the boat really fast. Think money can buy new children? The old head sheriff would never let the boat patrol stop anyone from wrong doing. He retired and the new head sheriff is all for busting them. She"s a lady cop with an attitude. Lucky for us she only does boats! The Hubs likes this because he can be on the water during the day and he takes his fishing poles and throws his line in during down times. This sucks for us because about all our weekends during summer months are spoken for now. We have weddings to attend, weddings to be a part of, our anniversary, fishing tournaments for the Hubs, a baby shower to plan for the sister in law, and our normal work weekends. That's ok though, as long as it's warm!

Have to come up with some day trips to do with the kids to keep them occupied this summer. We are taking them to the Cleveland Zoo someday soon, early June. Last time we were there my eaight year old was a baby and the little man was a "bun in the oven" so to speak. I'd like to spend the day at Wildwater Kingdom too but will have to investigate further as to what all they offer for younger kids. We've talked about renting tubes and meandering down the Tusc river and the kids are begging to camp. Not so excited about camping but hey...maybe I can talk them into sleeping on the trampoline in the back yard and call that camping! God, I love summer!!!

I realized today that I have not logged into Blogger in quite a while. Our days have been a blur of work and softball/baseball games, along with a little sleep thrown in for good measure!

Got diagnosed with Asthma on Monday after coughing for two weeks and repeatedly asking my Hubs to crack my back. It hurt. Constantly. The Doc walked in and said "I know what I think it is but let me listen just to be sure." Like him, I just thought I had bronchitis. Well he put the stethoscope down and said "That's definately not what I expected." Um, care to elaborate please? He went on about seasonal allergies blah blah blah. I don't have em'. Never did. Guess what? Still don't. He really hesitated to say Asthma but once he did the pieces came together. Family history...check. Son with asthma...check. I started the inhaler and that BIG HUGE TIGHT BALL lodged in my back and chest dissipated. It's that easy? For now it is. Let's hope I remain in the mild stage forever.

The weather here in Ohio has sucked lately. You never know what you are going to wake up to. Guess what folks. It's tornado season. Loosely translated, it means I have a bed in the basement with flashlight, water and emergency radio. Like most dogs, I need medicated at the first sign of a storm. I have always been this pathetic. Windy? I pace. Lightning? My palms sweat. Tornado watch? Palpitations. Seriously. I always act like I'm surprised every spring when we go through this. I've lived her my entire damn life. Hello. Spring=Storm. My kids think it's hilarious. Brats!

Ball season is in full swing now too. My daughter's team is falling apart. We had a game tonight and our coach and his wife got into a fight over a call and the wife slammed the score book down and left the game. She's really not my favorite person in life but this really pushed me over the edge. Keep your personal life away from my child. She tried to say our eight year old girls could not use the restroom during a game. Excuse me? Who are you to say that? Seriously, let the power trip go. It's ball. Let them enjoy it. Control your own child. Fight with your husband at home. As a matter of fact, stay home! It wouldn't offend most parents either.

Hope the weekend comes fast. I need a rest!
